A Rolfers Calling Card
"Seeing" is a Rolfer's calling card. When you first train as a Rolfer you just can't imagine how you're going to ever be able to see into the body and do what we call a " body reading". It does take practice but we're actually all doing it all the time; it's just about honing your eyes and opening up your vision, collecting cues from all the non-verbal communication layers and listening on many different plains.
My Path to Rolfing
I feel so very grateful that I was able to arrive at my training to become a Rolfer. It keeps me continually inspired by people and the way they move, breath, live and thrive. As you will often hear me say "your body holds the answer".
Alignment
I often hear my clients say “I feel out of kilter.” It’s an interesting expression and one that really sums up this point. If we’re hanging a painting we quickly know when it’s not quite straight. Similarly, if our bike wheel is not in alignment we’ll know that very quickly when we try and ride it a few metres down the road.
Rolfing As An Exploration Of Structural Ageing
What I find so continually incredible about my work is when I hear people talk about their bodies and ageing. There seems to be a strong assumption in our culture that they should expect pain, discomfort, lack of mobility, loss of vitality and energy. I truly don't believe this.
Post Operative Rolfing and Somatic Experiencing
When the body is injured or damaged we expect certain responses to occur and this is a natural part of being human.
